A route that takes you through some amazing places, such as the Bouchet volcanic lake, Pradelles (one of France’s most beautiful villages) and, last but not least, the sumptuous Haut-Allier gorges that open out between Lozère and the Haute-Loire. A hilly route with plenty to discover along the way. The route includes a 

section of the Robert Louis Stevenson Trail (GR 70), easy paths through the countryside and picturesque lanes: all the ingredients you need to fully enjoy the incredible décor of the Haute-Loire and the Haut-Allier.

    Day 1 : Your arrival in Le Puy-en-Velay

    A nice opportunity to discover the ancient town an the European capital of Saint-James way.
    On the morning come and join us in Coubon wher you can leave your car and take your bikes.

    Day 2 : Le Puy - Langogne - 59km - D+1020m

    Take the Puy-en-Velay cycle path, which follows a former railway line (Le-Puy-en-Velay − Langogne). The route is dotted with tunnels and viaducts and takes you to Cayres/Bouchet St Nicolas. Then Ride southward through the fields along the Robert Louis Stevenson Trail to Pradelles, one of the most beautiful villages in France. Then you switch to Lozère and discover the city of Langogne and Lake Naussac.

    Day 3 : Langogne - Alleyras- 59km - D+1210m (or 52km -D+980m)

    Ride through beautiful small villages such Auroux bathed by Chapeauroux ... Discover the Margeride, Grandrieu and the village of Chambon-le-Château. You ride on small roads and beautiful tracks!

    Day 4 : Alleyras - St-Privat (environ)- 55km - D+1200m (27km - D+645m)

    A sporty day or not, the choice is yours, either you follow the Allier (by road) on a small road which rises gently (before rising more steeply) towards St Privat d'Allier (Step of the Chemin de Saint- Jacques de Compostelle), or you take the height by going up on the plateau of Devès by traversing the wooded paths before joining Montbonnet and the way of Compostelle to join Saint-Privat d'Allier.

    Day 5 : Saint-Privat d'Allier - Langeac - 60km - D+670m (or 31km - D+420m)

    A spectacular day for riding along on your electric bike, with panoramic "balcony" views and a magnificent road that runs alongside the Allier river to join St Arcons d’Allier and Chanteuges. From Langeac, keep on biking to the gorgeous town of lavoûte-Chilhac with its Prieuré.

    Day 6 : Langeac - Le Puy-en-Velay - 52km -D+1150m

    Today's route takes you along small lanes and paths to Siaugues Ste Marie, taking in the small village of Saint-Jean-de-Nay. A very different landscape to those travelled earlier in the itinerary. Your trip culminates with a spectacular landscape: the Puy-en-Velay basin stretching out in front of your, with the high plateaus of the Mézenc in the background. Visit the fortress of the Comtes de Polignac, the Saint-Michel d’Aiguilhe chapel, Notre-Dame de France and Puy-en-Velay cathedral.
