Three outstanding days riding across the high plateaux of the Mézenc to take a breath of fresh air ! Ride to discover the highlands of the Mézenc, the land of “cistre“: a type of herb called “Alpine fennel” that gives Fin Gras du Mézenc beef its particular flavour. Set off to explore the village of Moudeyres with its thatched roofs, St Front lake, and, of course, the Mézenc. Pedal along picturesque roads, Saint Régis’ Trail, and the Tour de Velay trail.

With a small incursion in Ardèche, discover the Béage, Sainte-Eulalie but also the Mont-Gerbier-de-Jonc, the sources of the Loire, Mont-Mézenc, the incredible villages of cottages Moudeyres and Bigorre without forgetting the volcanic lake of St Front!

A real condensed of the best of the high plateaux of Mézenc to soak up the landscape, architecture, the art of living in rustic and intense mountain!

    Day 1 : Your arrival in Le Puy-en-Velay

    A nice opportunity to discover the ancient town an the European capital of Saint-James way.
    On the morning come and join us in Coubon wher you can leave your car and take your bikes.

    Day 2 : Le Puy – Le Béage - 48km - D+1215m

    After taking possession of your bikes, drink in the magnificent views of the Loire valley as you head over hills and through forests towards charming villages like Chadron, Présailles and of course Le Béage in Ardèche.

    Day 3 : Le Béage - Moudeyres -42 km -D+780m

    From Le Béage, reach Sainte-Eulalie to discover the first waves of the Loire but also its sources and the astonishing Mont Gerbier-de-Jonc. Then, as you merge onto the high plateaus of Les Estables, you will discover lush pastures as far as the eye can see, grazing cattle and the plateau's characteristic dwellings that give an insight into the harsh winter climate.

    You will not leave the highlands like this ! Ride to discover the volcanic lake of Saint-Front, its 11st century roman church and Bigorre, this incredible thatched roofs village. Then it is time to ride back through the cool Aubépin valley...
